November 2019
August 23, 2020“Antim Ivireanul” Vâlcea County Library
During summer, the County Library offers to the children and youngsters from the community the possibility to participate in different activities. One these activities is represented by interculturality and it’s one of the most attractive activities for both youngsters and children.
The preparation of the workshops regarding interculturality brought us joy and remined us of the places we were born in. In the workshops regarding our countries we also included non-formal games and presentations about culture, gastronomy, arts, we had dancing moments and music played by some of our colleagues. The children and youngsters were curious, attentive and very friendly. We laughed, we had fun and interesting moments together!
Mălaia Summer School
In this month, we have facilitated the non-formal activities, both indoor and outdoor, within Mălaia Summer School. This event was organised by the Village Hall and the parish’s minister, FCASEC was partner. We made some activities such as Name Game, Ties Game to know each other better, Alphabet Game, Electricity, Fruit Salad etc. These games help children to be more active in the group games and make them more creative. During those days spent in Mălaia, they cooked their traditional food and desert and we also prepared our traditional foods, showing also our traditional dances and songs e. It was a very colourful event, as we understood once again that our differences make us special. In the last day of Mălaia Summer School, after the closing festivity, together with other volunteering colleagues, we went to discover a place which is not that well-known, Scoruș(u) Waterfall. We had as guide a youngster of the village, who knew the surroundings. The road along the river and the waterfall enjoyed our sights in that afternoon. The smiles of the children the joy they manifested during the five days spent together showed us how important is our participation in the Erasmus +/EVS projects.
On-Arrival Training (OAT)
Our first meeting with ANPCDEFP took place in July, at approximately one month and a half since our arrival in Romania. The meeting was in a non-formal context at our first training course (On-Arrival Training), which took place in the capital city, Bucharest. It was interesting, because, on one side, we met other volunteers, the same as us, and, on the other side we were given a big picture of what a volunteering project with volunteers from different countries means. In those few days of training, we’ve gone through many stages, we had a lot of activities, we’ve learnt a lot of new things and we’ve met new people. During this training we had the chance to explore the city and have fun!
